From discussions with leaders of other youth center initiatives, we know youth centers are successful for three main reasons: youth leadership, youth ownership and youth governance. When youth believe the project is truly theirs, they become the engine that drives its successful completion.  Many youth have already spent significant amounts of time on the Mosaic, including: visiting other youth centers, making presentations to City Councils, creating high-quality youth programs and inviting other youth from their schools to board meetings.
